Original cloth, illustrated in the contemporary 'art nouveau' style in black to upper board. 11x16cm. Cloth a little rubbed and bubbled, inner joints a little loose. Rather accomplished pencil drawings by early owner to end-papers. Used; Good Howard Swan also translated François Gouin's "The art of teaching and studying languages". Passy, Sweet, Bell and Ellis are all mentioned in the introduction to the present volume.
